Who is kramer on seinfeld
When Michael Richards finally decided he was ready for the limelight again, he landed a role on Kirstie , the TV Land sitcom starring Kirstie Alley as a Broadway singer who reconnects with a child she gave up for adoption 26 years earlier.
Richards played Frank Baxter, her driver, and in the few show clips available online, his performance certainly looks familiar. If this scene above doesn't feel Kramer-esque, check out this clip. Kirstie was canceled after one season. In an era when the traditional sitcom is dying, veteran actors of those kinds of shows, like Richards, are going to find it harder and harder to stay relevant.
Kirstie is Richards' last credit aside from Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee —yet another bone thrown his way by, you guessed it, Jerry Seinfeld. When they finally get around to talking about that infamous night at The Laugh Factory in the clip above , Richards does himself no favors by making another attempt at atonement that comes across aloof and unconnected to the very basic idea that you don't yell the N-word at anyone, ever.
Though he admits that he should have just said "You know what? You're right, I'm not funny," and left the stage, Richards also says things like, "I should have been working selflessly that evening.
Most of the time, when I'm in that zone, I am selfless. But Richards was clearly still affected by the scandal, especially in terms of doing stand-up.
Admitting that he hadn't done any sets since, Richards said, "I busted up after that event seven years ago. It broke me down In addition to his solo episode of Jerry Seinfeld's docuseries, Michael Richards starred in several sketches as Dick Corcoran , president of Crackle, the streaming network where Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee originally aired before moving to Netflix in And once again, it's more of the same: the Dick Corcoran character is a spastic weirdo, and Seinfeld plays off his outbursts with his signature straight man persona.
Later, and most famously, Richards was known for his Kramer racist rant. Unfortunately, his methodology backfired, and media got wind of his antics. After public outcry over his PR blunder, Richards formally apologized to his fans and even civil rights gurus Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Richards embarked on a mission to apologize by appearing on several late-night shows, including The Late Show with David Letterman , hoping to regain some of his alienated fans. Richards also made personal apologies to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. But the damage was already done. Since then, Richards has had several TV appearances and cameos. But it was when the show embraces the absurdity of the character that it became so hilarious.
After Kramer loses his intern, his life is thrown into a more scattered mess than usual. He can't keep his appointments and realizes he was supposed to pick Newman up from the zoo 12 hours ago. From a grown man is picking another grown man up from the zoo to how epically late he is, it is just a hilarious mix of strangeness.
Though he was a much nicer person than the rest of the Seinfeld gang, Kramer was known to be insensitive at times. It came from his lack of normal social cues that further made him an oddball character.
But as time went on, Kramer's brutal honesty sometimes felt refreshing. Upon meeting someone Jerry knew on the street, Kramer immediately shared the harsh words Jerry had for the woman. When confronted about why he would say that, Kramer defends himself that he was just trying to spice up the conversation. It seems that Kramer ends up in the most outrageous situations.
While he can often make those situations even worse, in one instance, he proved himself to be a real hero. Kramer regales Jerry and George with an epic story of fighting a mugger on a bus and then being forced to drive the out-of-control bus. As George hears the story, he remarks that Kramer is a real-life Batman to which Kramer readily agrees.
And despite all the countless big-screen Batmen fans have seen, it's hard not to wonder what Kramer would look like in the cape and cowl.
