Why is rasterize layer greyed out

Thread starter mcdodd Start date May 28, Hi, I have to rasterize part of an image and keep the text layer solid but when I import the vector file created in Illustrator on layers as either rgb eps or psd when I select the layer to be halftoned the rasterize option is greyed out?

I have tried all sorts of combinations to get it to work but it still stays greyed out? It's driving me mad now Using latest versions of Adobe software.. Val47 Boudica Nite. Click to expand Have you tried merging the layers down one at a time? Start with the top layer and ctrl-E until all layers are merged. Alternatively if you just need to move all the stuff together, you can just link all the layers click the box next to the visibility eye in the layer pallete for each layer you want to link and then move them as needed.

If you are merging any layers with blend modes other than Normal, you will probably not get the result you expect. Short answer is, keep your layers separate. You can also put them in a Layer Set and transform the set. Instead of this, group them into layersets. Thanks for the tips everyone, but The File is getting unmanagible. I am trying to merge the effect so i can make more copies of it. You would be able to see a dropdown list of all the settings and options for affects you can apply on your design.
